Preventive Healthcare Services

We offer a full range of preventive healthcare services, for adults. With the renewed focus on prevention and promotion of good health since the Affordable Care Act, several preventive care and screening services became mandated by law, thus branding them “covered services.” Covered services mean that health insurance will not charge you copays, coinsurance, or require you to meet a deductible threshold to get the recommended preventive care screening and services. But you have to find value in the preventive healthcare philosophy and take the first step. Please note: We are no longer accepting new patients.

The first step is recognizing that you need preventive care services and the counseling because you don’t know what silent killer disease(s) you may be harboring. The second step is securing a primary care physician (PCP) who is not just accepting new patients in his or her practice, but a PCP who is willing to partners with you in fighting all health problems. The third step is for everyone in the preventive care partnership to stay genuinely committed to an effective physician-consumer partnership.

An effective PCP-consumer partnership is a partnership characterized by commitments. On the part of the PCP, commitment is availing patient appointment times and facilitating patient appointment scheduling backed by the offer of patient evaluations and treatments. On the part of the patient, it is a commitment to seeking evaluation when needed and to consistently adhere to mutually agreed upon treatment treatment plan and the follow-up recommendations.

Acute care evaluation is intended to identify an acute illness or an underlying potentially chronic condition. Preventive care screening is intended to identify diseases in their very early stages. Development of an effective management plan through consumer education, continued engagement, consistent collaboration, and partnership then follow. Staying consistently engaged with your provider is critical because pro-activity is part of disease prevention and achieving and maintaining good health. Our Patient Portal is a valued engagement tool for our patients. Our Patient Portal provides fast and secure access to additional services and your health information. Patient Portal is a great means of staying in communication with your PCP-team. Here are the fifteen covered preventive care services mandated for adults.
